Job Title: Equestrian Director
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Equestrian Director to lead our year-round equestrian program at Red Oak. As the Equestrian Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our horse program, ensuring the safety and well-being of our campers and our beloved horses throughout the seasons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise our year-round equestrian program, including summer riding programs, spring/fall lessons, and winter ground lessons.
- Manage a team of Riding Instructors and the Barn Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the equestrian center year-round.
- Develop engaging curricula and lesson plans tailored to riders of all ages and skill levels, focusing on teaching horsemanship.
- Maintain the health and welfare of our horses year-round, overseeing herd management and veterinary care.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for campers and riders to learn and grow, emphasizing safety and horsemanship.
Qualifications:
- Passion for working with children and horses, with documented experience in English riding.
- Certified Horsemanship Association Training or equivalent certification/experience.
- Previous experience in stable management and riding instruction, particularly with children.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively guide staff and build client relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, ensuring the success of our year-round program.
