Horse Trainer and Riding Instructor

Job Description

• Provide hunter/jumper training and instruction to a small group of riders

• Ride and train horses according to individualized programs

• Support rider development on the flat and over fences

• Collaborate with barn staff to ensure consistent horse care

• Prepare horses and riders for lessons, schooling, and occasional competition

• Maintain a calm, positive, and professional teaching environment

• Uphold high standards of horsemanship and horse welfare

Qualifications

• Professional experience as a hunter/jumper trainer or assistant trainer

• Strong riding skills and correct flatwork foundation

• Ability to teach riders of varying ages and experience levels

• Thoughtful, patient, and clear communication style

• Professional, discreet, and collaborative approach

• Competition experience preferred but not required

Schedule & Compensation

Full-time or part-time options available. Compensation is competitive and based on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate.
