Job description
$28 to $30 an hour depending on experience and licensure.
40 hours in a normal week. Overtime paid at time and a half when a week runs long. Furnished shared housing provided in Wellington for the winter season.
Health, dental, life and disability insurance, 100% paid by the practice. 401k plus profit sharing. We contribute whether or not you do. 3 weeks paid vacation. Paid parental leave. Paid continuing education, and we will support you through licensure if you want it.
Unlike a large hospital system, our practice offers a stable, close-knit team environment where you will work one-on-one with Dr. Laura Stokes-Greene and Dr. Anna Eureyecko. We love to teach, and by the end of your first season you will be shooting your own radiographs, flexing for lameness exams, setting up the ultrasound, and scrubbing for joint and PRP injections on some of the best jumpers and dressage horses in the world.
THE WORK: Flexing and jogging horses for lameness exams. Restraint for procedures. Setting up and shooting radiographs. Sterile prep for joint and PRP injections. Ultrasound setup. Truck inventory, drug expiry tracking and the monthly controlled substances report.
WHO THIS IS FOR: You do not need veterinary experience. You need horse sense, real fitness and a strong work ethic.
We would be glad to hear from you if you are:
- A groom who is done with 5am starts and wants to stay in horses
- A pre-vet or animal science graduate who needs clinical hours
- An experienced equine tech who wants out of the hospital setting
BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF ABOUT TWO THINGS
- This is not a riding job but you will be around extraordinary horses every day, and many of our people ride on their days off.
- This job moves. Winter in Wellington with housing provided, the rest of the year in NY and CT. If a winter in Florida sounds good rather than difficult, you are the right person.
