Currently Seeking Summer Seasonal and Year-Round Candidates

Both positions qualify for staff housing.

Year-Round Wrangler: This full-time position begins in February or March (based on availability) and provides an opportunity to oversee the training and care of our horses while delivering exceptional guest experiences at Cabin Creek Stables.

Summer Wrangler: This seasonal position runs from April to September, offering a chance to combine your love for horses with outstanding guest service during our busy summer months. Opportunities for extension may be available based on performance and business needs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate safe and enjoyable activities and events at the Stables.
  2. Deliver exceptional guest experiences, ensuring visitors to the Stables feel welcomed and valued.
  3. Provide assistance with veterinary care, hoof care, and feeding of animals.
  4. Perform daily housekeeping and maintenance tasks to keep facilities in top condition.
  5. Act as Barn Host as required, ensuring guest needs are met.
  6. Groom, tack, and untack trail animals; harness and unharness driving animals.
  7. Handle reservations for stable activities through phone and in-person interactions, utilizing the reservation system.
  8. Ensure guests complete waiver forms and manage the POS system for ride checkouts.
  9. Support ranching operations, including fencing, firewood gathering, mineral block distribution, and hay harvest.
  10. Maintain and repair tack and harness equipment.
  11. Move herds in and out of pasture on horseback.
  12. Report and assist in repairing unsafe trails, fences, or hazards.
  13. Act as an ambassador for the ranch, promoting other departments during guest interactions.
  14. Participate in all aspects of our ongoing herd health program.

Qualifications

  1. Three to five years of riding experience.
  2. Guest or dude ranch experience required.
  3. Driving or teamster experience essential; cattle work experience a plus.
  4. First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  5. Truck and trailer driving experience a plus.
  6. Background in guiding or teaching desirable.
  7. Familiarity with heavy machinery operation and fence or trail maintenance preferred.
  8. Outgoing, friendly, and responsible with strong interpersonal skills.
  9. Ability to multi-task and adapt priorities as needed.
  10. Self-motivated and mature, able to remain calm and professional in all situations without direct supervision.
  11. Physically fit, capable of working in all weather conditions, flexible with demanding work hours, and able to lift 45 lbs or more.


Compensation Description:

$14.50 - $16.50/hr +tips Competitive pay commensurate with education and experience.
