Adaptive Riding Instructor/Assistance Barn Manager

Sundance Circle Hippotherapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor or CHA Instructor of Riders with Disabilities (IRD) to join our team and help us expand our adaptive riding program. **Must be 18 years or older to apply!** We are currently seeking a part-time instructor for 30 hrs/week who is eager to grow into a full-time position and play a key role in developing a thriving adaptive riding program.

This position is a combination of Adaptive Riding Instructor and Assistant Barn Manager. The assistant barn manager is based at the facility and ensures the smooth running of the facility throughout patient session operating hours. Patient session operating hours are variable. During this time the assistant manager is the staff supervisor to all activities in the facility, with on-call support from the Barn Manager and/or Operations Manager as required. Saturday work may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide therapeutic riding instruction for individuals with disabilities, following individualized treatment plans and PATH Intl./CHA guidelines.
• Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans tailored to each rider's goals and abilities.
• Collaborate with therapists, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care for each rider.
• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for both riders and horses.
• Assist in the training and supervision of volunteers.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on therapeutic riding practices.

Qualifications:

• Current PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) certification or CHA Instructor of Riders with Disabilities. Current riding instructor working towards PATH/CHA certification welcome to apply.
• Must be at least 18 years old to qualify for PATH CTRI or CHA IRD!!
• Strong understanding of disabilities and their impact on riding skills.
• Excellent horsemanship skills and experience in handling and working with horses. Minimum 2 years of relevant horse experience required.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor with a commitment to helping individuals with disabilities achieve their goals.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with riders, parents, therapists, and volunteers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation:

• Starting pay of $16.28 per hour, with the potential for advancement based on experience and performance.
• Part-time position (30 hrs/week) with the opportunity to transition to full-time status based on program needs and instructor performance.
