Weekend Stable Hand
Job Description
Caney Fork Equestrian Center is seeking a part time (16+ hours/week) weekend stable hand. Weekends include Saturdays + Sundays.
Caney Fork EQC is a low volume, privately owned, high end facility committed to the exceptional care of each of the 8 horses on the property. We are seeking a responsible and dependable individual with a similar love and commitment to providing the best possible care to the horses.
Ideally this is is someone with a strong working knowledge of horses, their care and how to handle them. However we are happy to train someone with less experience if they fit our other criteria. Job duties include (but are not limited to):
Feeding, preparing grain + supplements, turning out + catching, blanketing + unblanketing, grooming horses, tack cleaning, horse laundry, stall cleaning, picking pastures + turnouts, general + deep barn cleaning, and maintenance of the arenas.
At this time we are just seeking a part time worker to cover Saturdays + Sundays. We are open to someone interested in working just one day each weekend, or the entire weekend every other week. There is the potential for more hours in the future/potential for a full time position to open up.
Starting pay is $18/hour for a 90 day probationary period followed by a raise based on performance.
