Equine Groom
Job Description
Equine grooming position available at a private equine facility. Must have groom experience with show horses (hunter/jumper, dressage or western disciplines). Position is full-time - Tuesday through Sunday 6:30am - 4:00pm, with some flexibility with agreed upon changes by management or owner.
Duties include but are not limited to: Stall cleaning, horse laundry, turning horses out, bringing them in, grooming, keeping the barn clean, tacking up, untacking, bathing as needed, feeding hay and grain as instructed. 6 days a week (6:30am to 4pm), with 3-4 nights a week coming back to hay and check on horses (8:30pm). Riding is a possibility for the right person. Reining background helpful but not necessary, grooming background is a necessity. Experience driving a tractor and/or trailer is a plus. There are 4-5 show horses on site.
April - mid-October in Lexington, Kentucky and mid-October - April in Wellington, Florida (south Florida). Housing provided in Florida, housing is possible in Lexington for the right person.
If you have your own horse, unfortunately we don’t have room for it in either location, other arrangements must be made. Prefer no pets. Must have your own vehicle, valid driver’s license and be legal.
Looking someone for long term employment. Must be responsible, reliable and takes initiative.
Full-time position. Salary is negotiable and based on experience.
