Assistant Trainer/Barn Manager

Job Description

Encanto is looking for an Assistant Trainer/Barn Manager to join our team in the Seattle, WA area. We are a show barn with approximately 20 horses. Our team is made up of a range from short/long stirrup, amateur hunters, .90m to 1.40 + jumpers. The perfect candidate will be detail oriented, a self-starter, strong horsemanship skills, great communicator, and has a strong hunter/eq/jumper foundation. 


Responsibilities:


• This is a full-time, 6 day/week position based out of the Seattle, WA area


• This position includes riding & teaching; candidate must have strong horsemanship skills, with the ability to ride and teach equitation


• This position includes horse care and stable management 


• This is primarily a home position, but will provide opportunities to travel and show; travel and show opportunities are dependent on the candidate’s qualifications


What we’re looking for:


• Someone with experience managing/teaching at an A circuit show barn


• Someone who enjoys interacting with clients, has strong communication skills (written and verbal), and strives to grow their students as horsepeople and riders


• Someone who takes pride in quality horsecare and keeping things running smoothly


• A positive, flexible attitude, and true team player


• Reliable and detail oriented self starter, with the ability to work independently


• Must be legal to work in the U.S. and able to travel to Canada
