Veterinary Assistant/Technician-Equine Veterinary Hospital

Reagan Equine is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant with excellent horse handling skills to join our team. We're a full-service equine veterinary practice that has served southeastern North Carolina since 2005. We offer ambulatory farm calls, emergency care, dentistry, and sports medicine, and our clinic on North Kerr Avenue has a 21-stall hospital with full hospitalization.

What you'll do:

Safely restrain and handle horses during exams, treatments, and procedures

Assist veterinarians on farm calls and in the hospital

Prepare instruments, equipment, and medications for appointments and procedures

Monitor and care for hospitalized patients, including treatments, feeding, and recording vitals

Help with emergencies as they come in

Keep the truck, clinic, and treatment areas clean, stocked, and organized

Communicate professionally with clients and the rest of the team

What we're looking for:

Excellent, confident horse handling skills, including with nervous, young, or difficult horses

Previous experience working with horses in a professional setting (veterinary experience is a strong plus)

Calm under pressure and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Attention to detail and willingness to learn

Reliable, punctual, and a team player

Able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather

Valid driver's license

Available for some weekends and holidays

Pay: Based on experience
