Lindy Farms is a family-owned and operated farm based in Somers, CT. For the last 50 years, it has been dedicated to the principles and standards of Thoroughbred and Standardbred horse breeding/training/racing. Position Summaries: 

The Thoroughbred Exercise Rider is responsible for executing the trainer’s instructions and ensuring training is done to the satisfaction of the trainer.

Your Role:

1. Follow the trainer’s instructions to prepare the horses for racing
2. Communicate with trainers, veterinary, and other staff on the horses
3. Maintains reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
4. Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs

Your Skills:  

1. Horseback riding experience, racehorse experience preferred
2. Knowledge of horsemanship
3. Multi-tasking abilities
4. Good oral communication and organizational skills
5. Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements:

1. Have a good attitude and participate as a member of the team.
2. Able to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays and holidays.
