Large Animal/Equine Veterinary Technician
Job Description
LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is seeking a full-time technician to join the large animal nursing team. Part-time positions are also available. Veterinary Technician credentials are preferred but not required. Notable experience with large animal/equine husbandry and restraint is a must.
The Large Animal Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Duties to include support for outpatient, inpatient, surgery, internal medicine, isolation, ICU, and emergency cases seen during and after business hours.
4-10s schedule, primarily non-traditional hours with shift diff compensation ($2-$3.50). Some holiday shifts (1.5x wage), and on-call requirements (compensated $2/hour). Wage is hourly starting at $16/hour and increases with experience with ample opportunity for overtime.
