Full Time Barn Assistant-Equine Veterinary Hospital

Reagan Equine, an equine veterinary practice in Wilmington, North Carolina, is looking for an experienced, horse-savvy Barn Assistant to join our hospital team full-time. You'll be the person who keeps our hospital barn running smoothly and our patients safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

This isn't an entry-level barn job. We need someone who can confidently handle and hold horses of all temperaments, including patients who are sick, recovering, or nervous, and who wants to work closely with a veterinary team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Handle and hold horses for exams, treatments, and procedures

Feed, water, and follow each patient's care instructions

Clean stalls and keep the barn, aisles, and paddocks in good shape

Turn out, bring in, and walk horses

Keep an eye on patients and tell the vet team when something seems off

Help with deliveries, supplies, and general upkeep

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Solid hands-on horse handling experience from a barn, farm, show stable, breeding operation, or vet clinic

Calm, confident, and safe around difficult horses

Reliable, and fine with physical work outdoors in any weather

Able to follow directions closely and pay attention to detail

Available for some weekends and holidays

NICE TO HAVE

Past work in an equine hospital or vet practice

Experience with stall rest, bandaging, or giving medication under a vet's direction
