Job Description

Applicant should be an experienced horse trainer who has put first rides on multiple young horses. The applicant should have a background of riding and training stallions. All horses on the farm have been born here as have their mothers and grandmothers via shipped semen from stallions who have produced at least one million dollars in reining, cutting, or working cowhorse. Our focus has recently changed to using 4 of our homebred stallions to breed our mares. The stallions are taken to a farm 5 miles away to be collected and there is no breeding of stallions at the training facility. The road in front of the property is within walking distance to such places as Home Depot, Walmart, Chill's, Olive Garden, Boot Barn, several full service hospitals and more. The back of the property adjoins thousands of acres of pasture where we frequently help our neighbor with his cattle. Though we have 24 horses most are fully trained reining horses many of which are retired. The trainer would be responsible for riding the 4 stallions and putting the first rides on 4 young horses. The current staff has been here at least 3 years and are eager to learn more about riding and training horses. They would be available to help the trainer whenever needed. We are located in Texas half way between Houston & Galveston. Base salary plus aggressive incentive program to increase the base salary.
