Equestrian Director
Job Description
Greetings from Camp Augusta, a magical summer camp in the woods of Northern California!
We're hiring new staff for the 2026 season, and hoping to find an awesome team of people. We're looking for people who love children, caring for horses, the outdoors, and who are self-motivated and playful!
Camp Augusta offers 100+ activities including (but certainly not limited to) circus, ziplines, hiking, horseback riding, archery, and blacksmithing! Our staff training is one of the longest in the country, covering topics that range from child development, communication styles, and skills training. Campers and staff also have an unprecedented level of control over their days, and are given the tools to follow their dreams and enthusiasm.
Our Equestrian Directors play a key role during the summer. Days are full with teaching arena lessons, facilitating trail rides, caring for our herd, and participating in other program areas around camp.
Some perks of the position:
- Certified Horsemanship Association Instructor Certification ($900+ value)
 - Opportunity for additional pre/post season work
 - Housing and freshly prepared local and organic food provided
 - A tight-knit and supportive community of mentors and peers
 - Opportunities for ongoing personal and professional growth (including a 3.5-week staff training)
 - Internship credit (if desired and applicable to your studies, we can offer internship credit towards psychology, equestrian-related majors and more – ask us for more info!)
