Dressage Groom
Job Description
Zia Equestrian is seeking an experienced, full-time, dressage groom to join our team. We are a large breeding, import, and dressage training barn in Aiken SC.
Schedule: 5-day work week with shared night checks, with occasional travel and extra time required for shows.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work closely with the trainer and assistant trainer to maximize efficiency
- Work closely with the vet and farrier as needed to ensure the show horses stay in top condition
- Grooming, bathing, and tacking riding horses
- Braiding and body clipping
- Cleaning tack
- Turning riding horses in/out
- Laundry
- Packing and unpacking for shows
- Horse care and feeding at shows
- Administering supplements, medications, and treatments
- Keeping the grooming area and tack room clean and organized,
Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Paid Time Off: PTO and holiday pay included.
Housing: A small apartment is available if desired.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience grooming for an FEI dressage trainer with high standards in a fast-paced dressage barn.
- Demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be passionate about horse care.
- Candidates must be US citizens or legally authorized to work in the United States
