Camp Director
Job Description
The Lone Star Riding Club in Driftwood, TX is currently hiring for a Summer Camp Director to supervise and support rotating groups of 4-12 year olds. This role will be involved with groups of campers for various activities during the week including Horseback Riding, Archery, Water Play, Bounce House, and other ranch activities. Camp counselors are role models and make a difference in the lives of youth throughout Central Texas. As a Lone Star Summer Camp Director, you'll provide enriching, safe, and memorable experiences for campers. You'll help campers gain a sense of achievement, build relationships, and find their sense of belonging. Most importantly, you'll ensure our campers have the best summer yet!
Shift Information: Our Camp Director position is full-time, 40 hours a week with a set schedule.
- Mondays: 6:30am- 2:30pm
- Tuesday-Friday: 7:30am- 2:30pm
Orientation for Summer camp begins the week of May 27th. Summer camp runs from June 2 through August 13th.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and meet campers needs
- Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving in the group
- Develop opportunities for the group, so that each attendee has a successful and positive experience during camp
- Keep camp supplies and equipment in good shape, including putting them away when finished with a project
- Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, sharing, clean-up, and chores, teamwork and hard work
- Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times. Supervise and engage with campers during activities, meals, and free time.
- Provide outdoor education experiences for campers, fostering an appreciation for nature and environmental stewardship.

- You are comfortable hiking, facilitating outdoor skills, and being outside with a group of campers during the entire summer day.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- At least one seasonโs experience working with youth
- Emotionally mature, good moral character, good sense of humor, and strong integrity
- Enjoyment of the outdoors
