Southern Ranches is seeking an experienced, organized, and highly motivated Breeding Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our elite performance horse breeding program. This is an opportunity to work hands-on with a top-tier rope horse operation focused on quality, integrity, and long-term success.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates well with veterinarians and clients, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of horse care.

Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the breeding program

Coordinate all breeding schedules, mare management, and veterinary appointments

Oversee daily ranch operations

Communicate with veterinarians to coordinate pregnancy checks, heartbeat checks, and maintain repro records

Foal out mares/halter break foals

Administer meds via IV/IM

Monitor & maintain herd health by maintaining all vaccines, worming and routine care schedules

Supervise barn staff and ensure efficient daily workflow

Assist with mare and foal handling, medical treatments, and general horse care

Help maintain a clean, organized, professional facility

Qualifications

Previous equine breeding experience required

Strong knowledge of:

Equine reproduction & overall health

Foaling and neonatal care

Ability to drive truck & trailer

Ability to recognize and respond quickly to emergencies

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to work long hours during breeding and foaling season

Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team mentality

Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and a self-starter
