Assistant Trainer - Riding Instructor

Enthusiastic person desired to fill the role of Assistant Trainer/Assistant Riding Instructor is a multi-breed, multi-discipline barn in SE Texas. Ours is a well-established program where the quality of life of our horses, safety & happiness of our riders and enjoyment of our work is at the forefront of every decision made.

We are seeking a candidate with prior professional experience in training horses & instructing students in Saddle Seat, Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure (equitation in those seats as well is desired). This person will work alongside the farm's head trainer/owner to maintain & develop a top string of show horses, start young horses on their career paths, develop future riders and maintain our presence & growth in our local community. Applicants should have verifiable experience working in the horse industry with highlighted abilities to ride & drive show horses, start youngsters, teach riding lessons and some farm management duties. Those with a passion for & experience within the American Saddlebred, Morgan & Hackney worlds would be a perfect fit, but we love & respect all breeds. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to work well with others, possess a strong sense of professionalism & good communication skills and be flexible with the never-ending changes & challenges of day-to-day life in the horse industry.

This is a salaried position with single-person appropriate living accommodation available. Salary shown reflects an annual sum plus housing & lessons/sales commissions.
