Job Description
Assistant Barn Manager position available at a busy dressage/eventing facility in North Salem, NY.
We have 20+ horses on property, most of which are currently in training with a wide range of goals. Between dressage shows and horse trials we tend to be away 2-3 weekends/month during the summer and we need someone we can leave to run the farm on those occasions.
Daily tasks will include: managing staff and delegating tasks for the day, stalls, turn-in/out, making grain, inventory of supplements and medications, assisting with vet and farrier, tack ups, and occasionally grooming at shows. You will be working under the manager/dressage trainer but you will be the eyes in the barn and responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly throughout the day.
This is a live in position and there is a one bedroom private apartment above the barn available. We unfortunately are not able to accommodate a horse at this time. Ideally we would like someone to start ASAP and all potential applicants need to be able to come in for an interview.
