Veterinary Assistant

Do you want to work with and treat horses on a daily basis?   The Equine Specialty Hospital in Burton, Ohio has a great opportunity for a full time or part time Veterinary Assistant.  Duties include:

• Monitoring and treating hospitalized horses
• Administration of medications to hospitalized horses
• Holding horses and assisting Doctors during procedures and treatments
• Assisting with surgeries(both emergencies and elective)
• Ensure hospital is clean and organized

Strong horse-handling skills, ability to work in a fast paced/high stress environment, a strong work ethic and willingness to work as part of a team are required. State licensure as a registered veterinary technician is not required, however, all RVT’s with horse experience are encouraged to apply.

Wages are based on experience and the shift you are working. Located 30 minutes east of Cleveland, the hospital provides referral services in surgery, sports medicine, internal medicine, diagnostics, and rehabilitation to horses. All services are performed in-house. The hospital is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week for emergencies and care of hospitalized horses.
