Part-Time Stablehand Position

Looking for a part time stable hand to work Monday-Friday, AM and PM chores at a beautiful 64 acre english boarding facility in Shelbyville, Ky.

AM chores take approximately 2.5 hours, PM chores take approximately 1.5 hours.

This is a 1099 job position.

Job details include:

* Feeding, administering supplements and oral meds, bring in/turn out

* Filling water troths/buckets

* Blanketing in winter months,  putting on fly masks, and grazing muzzles in summer months.

* Checking for injury or illness

* General barn tidying (blowing aisle, sweeping, etc)

* Minimal stall mucking

* Competitive pay

* Extra work may be available for additional pay

Job requirements:

* Must be 16 years or older to apply, with reliable transportation

* Basic equine knowledge and experience required. Advanced experience preferred.

* Must be comfortable handling off the track thoroughbreds, blanketing, and administering oral medications.

* Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time, and lift 50 pounds

* Punctuality and professionalism with a team player mentality is required.
