Job Title:  Equine Manager

Supervises:  Farm Hand (1 FTE) and horse handler and side walker volunteers (10 FTE’s).

Organization Focus:  Green Hill Therapy is an outpatient therapy clinic, located on an 11-acre farm that provides occupational, physical and speech therapy services to children with special needs. Therapy sessions involve a highly specialized treatment approach known as Hippotherapy combined with more traditionally clinic-based therapy. Our therapists utilize the movement of our specially trained therapy horses, with the assistance of equine team members, to help children with Autism, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida and other conditions.

Job Focus:  Maintain 6-10 horses to support clinical therapy program conducting 5,000 riding sessions a year.  Includes management of farm and horse related facilities.  Green Hill Therapy strives to provide a natural, healthy, healing, and safe environment to gain positive results for our child patients and their families.

• Find, select, secure, train and maintain herd with Natural Horsemanship orientation.
• Manage all aspects of horse care to ensure health and productivity.
• Work at the direction of the therapist to provide horses, staff and environment to maximize therapeutic value.
• Work with Financial Manager to set and maintain budgets, including special projects.
• Contribute as part of the management team.
