Brookfield Stables is a family friendly, multi-generational private equine operation that specializes in the training and care of field-hunter horses. We are seeking someone who is positive, has a strong work ethic, and has experience riding and working with horses.
Barn Assistant Role & Job Responsibilities
Specifically, the Barn Assistant will report directly to Barn Manager Christine Kennedy, and he/she will ensure that daily operations run smoothly.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Feeding horses
* Turning horses in/out
* Grooming horses
* Tacking/untacking horses
* Exercising horses
* Cleaning tack
* Cleaning the stalls/barn
* Holding horses for farrier/vet/chiropractor etc.
* Hooking/unhooking trailers
* Trailering horses
Typical work hours will be Tuesday and Thursday 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Compensation:
Salary and benefits are negotiable based on qualifications & experience.
Growth opportunities and the potential to hunt horses as a groom during hunt season are possible.
